Brian D. Lee

Brian D. Lee, a native of Lincoln, Illinois, joined Sorling Northrup as an associate in 2020 and became a shareholder on January 1, 2023. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2013, graduating summa cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Lee served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southern Illinois University Law Journal and as a judicial extern in the chambers of Justice Stephen L. Spomer of the Illinois Appellate Court, Fifth District.

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Lee worked as an associate at a regional law firm focused on civil defense litigation. While in private practice, he worked on cases in a wide range of areas, including premises liability, contract disputes, wrongful death, property damage, employment discrimination, and medical malpractice. In August 2016, Mr. Lee began a four-year term as a law clerk to the Honorable Sue E. Myerscough of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Mr. Lee is a member, trustee, and former Grand Knight of the Lincoln Knights of Columbus, Council #1250. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the State of Missouri, and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
