Alan Jedlicka joined Sorling Northrup in 2018 and practices in the areas of government and municipal law, corporate law, business formation, transactions, energy and utilities law, probate, trusts and estate planning, customs law and international trade, and federal, state and local tax matters.

Mr. Jedlicka has served as legal counsel in both the public and private sectors. His corporate and business experience includes mergers and acquisitions, pre-divestiture and post-acquisition restructuring and reorganization, complex due diligence, and structuring tax-efficient transactions and exchanges. He has extensive experience advising on compensation, benefits, and employment tax matters. Mr. Jedlicka is co-author of a publication on Illinois Business Law, and is a frequent speaker on matters related to contract law.

Mr. Jedlicka advises local government, including townships, villages, and municipalities, on day-to-day issues, practices and procedures, zoning and statutory compliance, and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. He has represented individuals and private parties in zoning matters before local zoning authorities, and advises numerous homeowners’ and condominium property owners’ associations.

Mr. Jedlicka has been selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer. He is a member of the Illinois and Sangamon County Bar Associations, serves on the ISBA Section Council for Energy, Utilities, Telecommunications and Transportation law and is the Editor and a frequent contributor to the Section’s newsletter.
