Lisa A. Petrilli joined Sorling Northrup upon graduation from law school in 2003 and was admitted to practice law in Illinois that same year. She became a shareholder on January 1, 2015.
Ms. Petrilli, a Springfield native, graduated from the University of Illinois at Springfield (B.A., cum laude, 1999). She received her Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois (cum laude, 2003), where she was on the Dean’s List and was admitted to the Order of John Marshall. Ms. Petrilli served as a member of The John Marshall Law Review, and authored a published article on Illinois Pattern Instructions for Juries in medical malpractice cases. Ms. Petrilli has authored or co-authored chapters for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education Contracts Smart Book, and is a frequent speaker on matters related to commercial and residential Landlord/Tenant Law.
Ms. Petrilli concentrates her practice in the areas of civil litigation and commercial contracts. Specific areas of concentration include: representation of public utilities and other public entities in eminent domain litigation; representation of property owners in lease negotiations and disputes; general commercial litigation; and representation of municipalities in contract negotiations.
Ms. Petrilli is a member and past president of the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association. She is also a member of the American, Illinois and Sangamon County Bar Associations.
