Silas McCormick joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran, Ltd., in 2009, upon graduation from law school. His primary practice areas include labor and employment law, litigation and business law with particular interest in educational, religious, and non-profit entities
Prior to enrolling in law school, Mr. McCormick held several positions within higher education. He served as Coordinator for Research and Assessment of Adult Education programming at Millikin University, Research Associate with the Illinois Board of Higher Education, Graduate Assistant to President Emeritus Stanley O. Ikenberry of the University of Illinois, and he completed internships in the Offices of the President at Southern Illinois University and Lincoln Christian University.
During law school, Mr. McCormick worked as a clerk in the Office of the General Counsel at The Ohio State University. He also completed several semester-long placements. In these programs, he mediated disputes for the Franklin County Municipal Court, reviewed, drafted and tracked legislation as a legal intern to State Senator Mark D. Wagoner, Jr. of Ohio, and evaluated jurisdictionals and prepared bench memoranda as an extern for Chief Justice Thomas Moyer of the Supreme Court of Ohio.
